RESNET is pleased to welcome Aprilaire as the newest member of the RESNET Suppliers Advisory Board (SAB). Aprilaire has been brand in the indoor air quality industry for more than 60 years. As a division of Research Products Corporation, the company designs and manufactures whole-home indoor air quality products – partnering with HVAC contractors, distributors and home builders to provide comfort, health, energy efficiency, and preservation of the home. The purpose of the RESNET Suppliers Advisory Board is to provide an opportunity for suppliers to better understand RESNET, to network, and to provide supplier input to the RESNET Board of Directors. Since the RESNET HERS® Rating is product neutral, it is a whole house energy performance analysis that allows products to compete on a level playing field and hence hasten the introduction of new products into the marketplace. Being on the RESNET Suppliers Advisory Board is a great opportunity for suppliers to have a voice and to benefit from the industry’s perspective. As Aprilaire Senior Product Engineer Scott Grefsheim notes on Aprilaire product development, “RESNET and energy raters have become our customers. We’ve heard what they’ve said, and that’s how those product ideas evolve. I believe RESNET is one of the most valuable and influential organizations that we are a part of at Aprilaire.” In addition to a representative seat on the RESNET Board of Directors, SAB members receive an annual supplier intelligence report. Available beginning last year, this new intelligence report includes HERS® rated homes data including: insulation and window values leakage rates heating and cooling efficiency water heater efficiency and pipe insulation renewable energy system type and size Another new SAB benefit is the opportunity to participate in the RESNET podcast feature, RESTalk. On September 10, Aprilaire will be the first SAB member featured, when Scott Grefsheim, guests on RESTalk episode “Build it tight, Ventilate right: Satisfying Building Codes & Consumer Expectations for Health and Comfort” (subscribe at http://restalk.libsyn.com).
