Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. to Pilot RESNET HERS® Index Score in Its Pilot “Take Control & Save Energy Smart New Home Program”

Jun 13, 2012

RESNET and Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. have teamed up to pilot an Energy Smart new homes program, the “Take Control & Save Energy Smart New Home Program”.  The goal of the effort is to raise consumers’ knowledge of new home energy performance using the RESNET HERS® Index Score

Under the pilot program the participating builders will market the HERS® Index Score alongside the Take Control & Save Energy Smart Home program.  If successful, Associated Electric Cooperative will assist its participating member electric cooperatives with the promotion and marketing of the Energy Smart New Homes programs to homebuilders in their service areas for all new homes.

Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. services six Generation & Transmission (G&T) cooperatives that serve 51 electric distribution cooperatives in the states of Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

This is an important opportunity to raise the awareness of the HERS® Index Score to electric cooperative customers in the rural areas of Iowa, Missouri and Oklahoma.  It can also serve as a model for electric cooperatives across the nation.
