With a student pass ratio of over 90%, Fox Energy Specialists has fined tuned its training structure so you will not only be prepared to pass the RESNET National HERS Rater Exam, but give you more opportunities to get hands-on training out in the field.
How it works…
HERS 101 (Monday – Thursday) $499
This four (4) day, all classroom, training course is the first step toward a professional Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Certification. This includes a comprehensive teaching and review from our standard training materials (Fox Energy Specialists Rater Training Manual and The Residential Energy Book 5th Ed. by John T. Krigger and Chris Dorsi), so you gain the knowledge of identifying hidden flaws found in standard construction. These flaws cause discomfort, high utility bills, moisture and indoor air quality problems for homeowners and potential home buyers. You will learn how to systematically analyze all the homes components and how they work together to increase energy efficiency.
After passing the National HERS Rater Exam you are ready for…
HERS 102 (Friday and Saturday) $899
This two (2) day course is the final step of becoming a Certified HERS Rater. Use state of the art diagnostic tools, such as blower doors, duct blowers and manometers to successfully diagnose new and existing homes. Conduct a complete diagnostic analysis of a home and discover how to generate a complete home energy rating using REM/Rate software (Provisional Rating). Then go out in the field for hands on training to complete your first confirmed rating with your instructors.
Students will also complete the 3 remaining Probationary Ratings during this intensive two (2) day course. Those students who complete their required HERS ratings will earn their certification as a HERS Rater under Fox Energy Specialists’ providership or have the option to submit your completed ratings to an accredited provider of your choice.

• Architectural Scale Ruler
• 2 pens or pencils
• Notepad
• Laptop w/wireless connection
• Registration fees (if not paid)
• $100 fee paid directly to RESNET at the time of exam.
