Certified RESNET Professionals – Enhance Your Marketing Efforts: Leverage Online Homeowner Reviews

RESNET consumer research shows that before making any purchasing decision, the majority of homeowners will evaluate and compare energy efficiency raters and contractors online.

As part of their online search, homeowners look for positive reviews on certain sites as reliable indicators of performance and customer satisfaction. Top sites include Angie’s List, Yelp, and the Better Business Bureau.

In light of the data, we encourage all RESNET members to take the following steps to enhance your marketing efforts*:

1. Ask your satisfied customers to post their experiences to Angie’s List and Yelp.

Here is some suggested text that can be customized to fit your particular situation:

“Thank you again for your business! If you would like to tell the world about your positive experience with us as a RESNET-certified rater/contractor, please follow any of the links below to submit a review.”

Note: To make it easy for the customer, you may want to print the Angie’s List report form and provide them with a hard copy, so they don’t need to print it themselves.

2. Add links to these sites on your own website, encouraging prospective customers to read reviews of your company, and mention any particularly high rating on your site and in your marketing collateral [e.g., “A” rating on Angie’s List, “BBB Accredited Business” (if applicable), etc.]
