Energy Inspector Position, Boston Area

Energy Training Solutions is hiring an Energy Inspector in the Boston area to perform equipment inspections this fall in public housing projects. This is a temporary/contract position with some flexibility in hours. There is the possibility of additional work in the region beyond this project, as well.

While a technical background is preferred, it is not required. Strong communication skills are a must, and some experience in the field of energy management/ energy efficiency/ building science is preferred. Training will be provided.

Position Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with site managers to schedule site visits.
2. Inspect a sample of apartments in selected developments to ensure that water and energy-saving equipment is installed and operating.
3. Fill out a checklist for each apartment visited.
4. Document installations that are “out of spec” by photographing items.
5. Teach residents about the energy conservation measures installed in their homes.
6. Record and report on resident feedback on energy conservation measures installed in their apartments and developments.
7. Support residents in their efforts to save energy and water as needed.
8. Submit a report on your activities and findings. You will be provided with a report template to use.

Compensation: $30-$40/hr (commensurate with experience)
