On January 1, 2012, significant changes to the ENERGY STAR Homes program (Version 3) will go into effect. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that in order for a home energy rater to verify a home for ENERGY STAR after the effective date of Version 3, the rater must complete training from an EPA trained Rater Training Provider. The listing of EPA qualified training providers is posted on the RESNET web site at ENERGY STAR Version 3 Rater Training. RESNET has also posted a web page map that indicates where ENERGY STAR Version 3 trainings are taking place. Raters who undertake the EPA Version 3 rater training will be credited with 18 hours of RESNET rater professional development training.
