Free Webinar on Why Proper Insulation Installation Matters

Presented by the Insulation Institute

Thursday, August 10, 2017, 3:00 PM Eastern

Using a three-grade approach developed by RESNET, HERS® raters are trained to assess the quality of insulation installation. Grade I is the best, while Grade III the worst.

In order to properly rate the quality of the installation of insulation HERS® raters must thoroughly understand between the different grades of the quality of the installation of the insulation.

According to the Insulation Institute, a project of NAIMA (North American Insulation Manufacturers
Association), not meeting the Grade I criteria is commonplace. In fact, in a recent field survey, the US Department of Energy found only about half of all homes had Grade I quality. The bottom line is, even if a builder’s contract with the insulation installer says that the product will be installed “per manufacturer specifications”, this is too often not happening.

How does this impact the HERS® rating? Join us for this free webinar, “Why Proper Insulation Installation Matters” presented by Jordan Doria of NAIMA.

In the webinar you will learn:

  • The business case for why insulation installation matters
  • The effects that not achieving Grade I installation have on a home’s HERS® Index score
  • The costs of different insulation installation approaches
  • Access the “Quality Management” checklist to help builders, raters and insulation contractors collaborate to deliver proper, Grade I installations
