The HERS and building science community has lost a friend with the passing of Ken Eklund.

He was influential in launching the HERS programs in the states of Idaho and Washington.
He was an avid skier and patroller, whitewater rafter, sailor and beach naturalist, pickle maker and cook, winemaker, singer and songwriter, meditator, religious philosopher, and political commentator.
Ken passed away peacefully on August 6, 2018, after a multi-year struggle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
