Valerie Briggs has been appointed as the RESNET Communications Director.

Most recently, Valerie served as the Director of Marketing and Business Development at North American Technician Excellence (NATE), overseeing business development, advertising, marketing, and public relations activities for the organization. Prior to joining NATE, Ms. Briggs worked as Senior Director of External Communications and Marketing Outreach for the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), a national health care trade association representing the interests of the owners of over 23,000 independent retail pharmacies. She was previously responsible for marketing and training for the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work Program, a healthcare and employment program for people with disabilities, and in the late 1990’s worked as a Marketing Manager for The Community PhoneBook, handling media, marketing and promotional opportunities for 135 community telephone directories published in 11 states.

Briggs graduated from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and earned an MBA and Master’s degree in Marketing from University of Maryland University College.

Ms. Briggs will be responsible for enhancing RESNET’s communications to the HERS industry, builders and our strategic partners.  She will also oversee RESNET’s effort to educate consumers on the benefits of HERS ratings.  Her first task will be to conduct a series of surveys of RESNET members, the rating industry and RESNET’s strategic allies to evaluate the current communication channels and how RESNET can expand its effectiveness.  Based on the results of the surveys, she will develop a strategic marketing plan for the organization.  The strategic marketing plan will be presented to the RESNET Board at its November meeting in Charleston, SC.

Please join us in welcoming Valerie Briggs to the RESNET team.
