NVR, Inc. Commits Its Home Building Companies to Market Their Homes HERS Index

NVR, Inc., one of the largest homebuilders in the nation has committed its four divisions to have all of their homes energy rated by certified RESNET home energy raters and market their home’s HERS Index.

NVR is the parent company for Ryan Homes.  Ryan Homes builds homes in Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

NVR is one of the largest home builders in the U.S. The company operates in 25 metropolitan areas in 14 states.

It is also the parent company of NVHomes, Rymarc Homes and Fox Ridge Homes. It NV Homes builds in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. All of NVR’s divisions build all of their homes to meet the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR standard.  In 2011 the company was awarded the ENERGY STA Partner of the Year by EPA.

RESNET has entered into agreements with the nation’s largest builders.  The The intent of these agreements is to raise consumers knowledge of new home energy performance by using RESNET’s HERS Index. This will clearly differentiate homes built by these leading builders and put competitive pressure on the new home industry to follow suit. It is expected that thess agreements will serve as a model to other local, regional and national builders that will have positive outcomes for consumers, RESNET and the new home industry.
