Public Review and Comments Open on Proposed Revisions to RESNET’s National Home Energy Rating Technical Standard

ANSI/RESNET 301-2014, “Standard for the Calculation and Labeling of the Energy Performance of Low-Rise Residential Buildings using the HERS® Index” has been adopted as an American National Standard.  With the adoption of ANSI/RESNET 301-2014 RESNET’s technical standards needs to align with the ANSI standard.

RESNET is proposing an amendment of Chapter Three of the Standards to specify the technical requirements be based upon the ANSI standard.

The proposed amendment is undergoing the RESNET standard amendment public review and comment process. Interested parties are encouraged to comment on the proposed amendment. Public comments on the proposed amendment will be accepted until Monday, May 5, 2014.

Only comments made through the online system will be accepted.

After the comment period, the RESNET Standards Development Committee will consider and document each of the comments submitted and make appropriate changes. The revised proposed amendments then will be submitted to the RESNET Standard Management Board for adoption.
