The Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Association (RIMA-I) has agreed to work with RESNET to promote the improvement of home energy performance in the U.S. RIMA-I will accomplish this goal through urging its remodeling members to become trained and certified as RESNET Energy Smart Contractors.
Through this new partnership RIMA-I member contractors will be urged to team up with RESNET certified home energy raters to form Energy Smart Teams to undertake comprehensive energy upgrades of existing homes.
RIMA-I represents reflective insulation, radiant barrier and interior radiation control coating (IRCC) manufacturers and other companies that are active within the industry. RIMA-I exists to educate the marketplace on the benefits of reflective technologies and to represent member’s interests in establishing ASTM standards for testing and installation procedures. RESNET Executive Director Steve Baden commented, “Teaming up with RIMA-I and its member contractors will result in a major push of including energy upgrades as a part of the remodeling of an existing home and the building of new homes. This will result in new business opportunities for both home energy raters and contactors.”
