RESNET Board of Directors Moves Effective Date of the Revisions of the RESNET CAZ Testing Standard to December 31, 2014

Jul 24, 2014

RESNET has previously adopted modifications to its CAZ testing standard.  Due of industry concerns the RESNET Board of Directors had previously moved the effective date of the modifications to Chapter 8 Sections 806-808 to August 15, 2014.

In January 2014 the RESNET Board adopted a policy that RESNET would no longer have its own standard but would rather, however, refer to the existing ANSI standard.  RESNET proposed an amendment to its standards remove CAZ and CO standards from Chapter 8 and the proposed amendment underwent to the RESNET standard amendment public review and comment process.  The amendment is currently in the process of public comment reconciliation by the RESNET Standard Development Committee 300.

Because the public comment reconciliation process is taking more time that was originally planned the RESNET Board voted to extend the effective date of Chapter 8 Sections 806-808 to December 31, 2014.

This means that the current RESNET CAZ tests will not be modified until after the deadline of all currently certified RESNET Home Energy Raters must take the CAZ tests.
