ANSI/RESNET 301-2014 Standard for the Calculation and Labeling of the Energy Performance of Low-Rise Residential Buildings using the HERS® Standard has been made into a RESNET and International Code Council (ICC) ANSI consensus standard. To make the standard less proprietary RESNET and ICC is proposing changing the title and text in the standard from HERS® to Energy Rating Index. The proposed addendum to standard ANSI/RESNET 301-2014 will modify section 5.2 on Innovative Design Requests. Editorial changes are made to replace HERS® with Energy Rating in the title and throughout the standard. The designation and title are modified and other editorial changes made to the standard together with the amendment for Addendum B. The initial designation and title, ANSI/RESNET 301-2014 Standard for the Calculation and Labeling of the Energy Performance of Low-Rise Residential Buildings using the HERS® Index, is modified to, ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 Standard for the Calculation and Labeling of the Energy Performance of Low-Rise Residential Buildings using the Energy Rating Index. This proposed amendment is undergoing the RESNET ANSI consensus standard amendment public review and comment process. Interested parties are encouraged to comment on the proposed amendment.
