RESNET Publishes New Series of Factsheets on Home Energy Ratings and the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code

Jan 8, 2015

Across the nation there is a trend for code jurisdictions to adopt a HERS® Index Score option for meeting energy code compliance.  To date over 150 local and state code jurisdictions have adopted an energy rating option to their codes.   This movement has gained momentum with the International Code Council adopting an Energy Rating Index option in the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).

This trend presents an exciting opportunity for certified RESNET HERS® Raters to expand their business opportunities. Raters can add IECC code inspections to their business services.

Working with its strategic allies, RESNET is undertaking an educational effort aimed at builders and code officials on the advantages that HERS® Index Scores offer as a performance based compliance option.  This effort includes development of a series of factsheets.

RESNET has just released three new fact sheets.  They are:

Benefits of the Energy Rating Index ScoreOption – This factsheet explains the benefits of the Energy Rating Index compliance option from the following perspectives:
