RESNET will hold a webinar “Call to Action: Adoption of Performance Based Residential Efficiency Tax Credits and Mortgage Financing” on June 6th at 2 PM EDT. RESNET was effective in advocating for the extension of the tax credits for energy efficient homes. The extension, however will expire on December 31, 2011. RESNET will be undertaking a concentrated effort in 2011 to advocate performance based tax credits for a minimum of three years. We will also be advocating for legislation that would allow the financing of the energy upgrades of a home in the mortgage loan and recognition of a home’s energy performance in the appraisal. This webinar will explain the efforts to extend the credit and be a workshop on the building performance industry can be effective in working with Congress in enacting the financial incentives in 2011.
