Meritage Homes Chief Executive Director Steven J. Hilton to Present the Key Note Address at the 2016 RESNET Building Performance Conference

Steven J. Hilton, the Chief Executive Officer and Co-chairman of Meritage Homes, will be the keynote speaker at the 2016 RESNET Building Performance Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona on Monday, February 29, 2016.

Mr. Hilton will be addressing the following topics:

  • A call to the housing industry, HERS® Raters and contractors to shift from a commodity base to a quality base that provides consumers with solutions
  • Why did Meritage Homes pursue a high energy performance strategy of setting the standards for energy efficiency?
  • Taking a moment to gaze into the crystal ball and project where the housing market will be going over the next five years
  • While at the crystal ball, what will be the future trends of the housing industry?

Steven Hilton was co-chairman and co-chief executive officer of Meritage Homes Corporation from 1997 to May 2006. In May 2006, Mr. Hilton was named the Company’s chairman and chief executive officer. In 1985, Mr. Hilton cofounded Arizona-based Monterey Homes, the predecessor company to Meritage Homes Corporation. Under Mr. Hilton’s leadership, Monterey became publicly traded in 1996. Mr. Hilton received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Arizona and is a director of Western Alliance Bancorporation, a leading bank holding company based in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Hilton has almost 30 years of real estate experience and is considered an expert and innovator in the homebuilding industry. He is a frequent participant in panels and interviews regarding the industry. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Western Alliance Bancorporation and volunteers on boards for Banner Alzheimer’s Institute; TGEN National Pancreatic Cancer Advisory Council and is a FoundationTrustee for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale.

Meritage Homes is the 7th largest home builders in the U.S.  The company builds high energy performance homes in 21 markets in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. It has delivered more than 90,000 homes since it was founded.
