U.S. Department of Energy Seeks Input on Workforce Guidelines for Energy Upgrades

November 10th, 2010 - Posted by Steve Baden under RESNET News

The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is in the process of developing national guidelines on weatherization and energy efficiency for residential buildings. The process of developing the Workforce Guidelines has involved a historic collaboration between Weatherization Assistance Program practitioners and trainers, home performance contractors, building scientists, organized labor, healthy homes and worker safety experts, and other professionals in the building trades and throughout the retrofit industry.

As part of that process, EERE is actively seeking input from the building performance community. Because you hold a RESNET certification, you have demonstrated the high level of knowledge and expertise in this field that we seek in the public comment process. EERE invites you to participate in the public review of these guidelines on-line at: http://www.weatherization.energy.gov/retrofit_guidelines
