USGBC Formally Recognizes RESNET Green Rater Designation as Meeting Prerequisites for LEED Home Green Rater

The US Green Building Council has formally recognized RESNET Green Rater designation for the LEED for Homes Green Rater Eligibility Qualifications.

In the LEED for Homes Green Rater eligibility requirements, the USGBC states that the RESNET Green Rater training will meet the requirement of a minimum of 8 hours of education on comprehensive residential green building strategies.  The USGBC also recognizes certified HERS raters automatically meets the knowledge of building science basics requirements.

With this formal recognition it will be easier for raters to enter the process of being a LEED for Homes Green Rater. RESNET has accredited RESNET Green Rater Training Providers.  Raters wishing to be designated as RESNET Green Raters should contact an accredited provider.  The registry of accredited RESNET Green Rater Providers is posted at http://www.resnet.us/programs/training_green_providers
