DESCRIPTION:
The focus of this position is the inspection of new construction homes around the International Code Council’s Residential Codes and the EPA’s ENERGY STAR program. Position will be part-time, with the ability to move to full-time (40 hrs/wk). The Field Inspector will be responsible for performing Third Party Inspections and HERS Ratings at residential development sites throughout the Houston area. The primary customers for these services are production homebuilders.
The Field Inspector will report to the Regional Manager on a daily basis. Coordination and communication with the Regional Manager regarding the status of job sites / communities must be frequent, clear, complete, and is absolutely critical.
The Field Inspector will perform inspections of code requirements and specified feature sets of each home using prescribed protocols and parameters and generate a daily report for the Regional Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate should have in depth knowledge in residential construction. We are looking for a self-motivated person who is highly detail oriented, has strong communication skills, and is passionate about getting their job done right.
Candidate must be in good physical condition to carry up to 50/lbs of equipment, climb ladders, and hoist themselves up into attic spaces.
Candidate must have a dependable and fuel-efficient vehicle with current and valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
Minimum Certifications Requirements:
1) ICC Residential Combination Inspector (which include ALL of the following)
2) ICC Residential Mechanical Inspector; ICC Residential Electrical Inspector; 3) ICC Residential Plumbing Inspector; and ICC Residential Building Inspector.
4) ICC Residential Energy Inspector/Plans Examiner
4) RESNET HERS Rater or Rating Field Inspector and able to pass the ENERGY STAR version 3.0 Testing requirements
COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be based on experience. Position will be part-time, with the ability to move to full-time (40 hrs/wk) There may be overtime requirements and will be compensated at time and a half. Company will provide all necessary diagnostic equipment including a cell phone, laptop computer, and pay for vehicle fuel plus $0.08 per mile driven for work purposes.
