RESNET CAZ & Work Scope Testing
RESNET has created a new rater certification, the Comprehensive Home Energy Rater (CHER). The CHER can conducted comprehensive ratings/energy audits as part of a whole whole energy retrofit or participate as part of a RESNET Energy Smart Home Performance Team (for information on RESNET Energy Smart Home Performance Teams click on http://www.resnet.us/main/energysmart_teams ). The difference between a certified Home Energy Rater and a Comprehensive Home Energy Rater is that the CHER must pass an online RESNET multiple question test and a practical online CAZ and Work Scope test.
A rater can only sign up for the RESNET CAZ and Work Scope Test through an accredited Rater Training Provider. In order to offer the test the Rater Training Provider's rater trainers must pass the Rater Trainer online CAZ and Work Scope Test. I have attached the RESNET CAZ and Workscope Testing Protocol for RESNET Accredited Rater Training Providers.
RESNET has been receiving considerable interest from certified Home Energy Raters to be able to take the RESNET CAZ and Work Scope training and test. The interest will only grow has the demand for RESNET Energy Smart Home Performance Teams grows through utility sponsored programs and proposed retrofit legislation now before Congress.
