Notice of NEW RESNET Policy Regarding Timely Submissions of RESNET Requirements
The RESNET Quality Assurance and Ethics Committee met on February 16, 2008 and directed staff to significantly increase the enforcement of timely submissions by RESNET Providers of RESNET requirements including applications for re-accreditation and payment of fees.
This policy came as a result of an increasing lack of compliance on the part of providers in submitting RESNET required annual re-accreditation applications, reports, and fees in a timely manner. RESNET staff has been spending an inordinate amount of time and expense following up with providers who consistently ignore deadlines.
Therefore, effective immediately, providers who are delinquent on submitting any RESNET required documentation, including but not limited to, annual rater registries, reporting the number of ratings performed in the past year, provider renewal applications, and quality assurance monitoring submissions, will be placed on immediate 30 day probationary status. If the required documentation is not received within the 30-day probation period, the provider will be issued a suspension notice. The suspension notice will only allow the provider 2 weeks to come into compliance before the suspension becomes effective.
Exception to the 30 day rule for fees only: The 30 day window for compliance and two week notice of suspension does allow for late fees submissions to be negotiated with RESNET staff. The fees negotiation must be negotiated with RESNET staff within the 30 day probation period or the two week suspension notice will be evoked.
Probationary status and notice of impending suspension is kept confidential within RESNET staff members. Suspension status is not confidential. In cases of suspension, providers and their raters are not allowed to perform ratings, must inform their clients and raters of their suspended status in writing with a copy of this correspondence sent to RESNET. RESNET will remove their company name from the RESNET website, post their suspended status on a new page on the RESNET website which will list providers under suspension, and will inform the EPA of their suspended status.
In addition, a re-listing fee of $250.00 per infraction will be imposed when the provider meets the terms of his suspension and returns to a good standing status in order for the provider to be re-listed on the RESNET web site.
