Air Filtration Systems
When choosing an air filtration system, be sure to do your homework. There are various options to choose from in a wide range of prices. Do you want a permanent system that is installed on your furnace or central air conditioning system, or a portable unit? A permanent air filtration system can reach most areas of the house, while a portable can only clean the air that passes through it. When purchasing a portable unit, be sure that it is rated for the size of room it's being used in, and that it will exchange the air five or six times each hour. Different types of air filtration systems are better at destroying mold spores, while others are better at cleaning pet dander and pollen. Still others are better at eliminating viruses and bacteria. Choose a system based on your needs. And finally, be aware that the purchase price of an air filtration system is only one part of the equation. Some systems require expensive filters which must be changed several times each year, while others have washable filters. Take operating costs into consideration, and not just the purchase price.
