RESNET’s rating quality assurance efforts have been beefed up with the appointment of Laurel Elam as the RESNET Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation. In her position she will team up with RESNET Quality Assurance Manager Scott Doyle in enhancing RESNET quality assurance oversight. Laurel began working for RESNET March 2010 as the coordinator of the annual RESNET Building Performance Conference. In March 2013 she was promoted to serve as the RESNET Quality Assurance Manager. Prior to joining RESNET, Ms. Elam was a project manager with the Appalachian State University Energy Center. She graduated from Appalachian State University, with a degree in Appropriate Technology and a minor in Sustainable Development. The main focus of her work at the Energy Center was promotion of residential energy efficiency and ENERGY STAR Homes. She was the co-author and designer for the “Affordable Passive Solar Planbook for North Carolina.”
