The RESNET® Board of Directors: Your Organization’s Representatives The RESNET Board of Directors is your voice in the Rating Industry. The RESNET Board is composed of representatives of certified RESNET HERS® Raters and RESNET accredited Providers. The Board also includes representatives from the industry’s stakeholders including builders, code officials, appraisers, and contractors. Board members are elected by each category of RESNET’s membership and serve a term of two years. The RESNET Board is composed of the following categories of RESNET membership and stakeholders: RESNET Accredited Rating Providers – 8 seats Certified RESNET HERS Raters – 3 seats Production Builders – 2 seats Associate Members – 1 seat Code Official Organization – 1 seat Contractor Organization – 1 seat Appraisal Organization – 1 seat Water Efficiency Representative – 1 seat In August 2022 the RESNET Board of Directors expanded RESNET membership to all active certified RESNET HERS Raters in good standing. This action provides the opportunity for all HERS Raters to vote in board elections as well as become candidates representing HERS Raters in Board elections. The current members of the RESNET Board of Directors are posted at 2024 RESNET Board of Directors. The RESNET Board of Directors provides overall program oversight, sets, and maintains the strategic vision of RESNET, exercises governance oversight of the organization ensuring that RESNET has adequate resources to advance its mission. The specific responsibilities of the RESNET Board are: Maintain the Strategic Vision of Organization Conduct the Fiduciary Oversight of Organization’s Finances Conduct the Governance Oversight for Compliance of: RESNET By-Laws Laws and Regulations of IRS and State of California 2024 RESNET Board Election RESNET holds an online Board election annually in which RESNET’s members elect their membership category representatives. RESNET Board members serves a term of two years and are eligible for re-election. RESNET seeks leaders from its membership to seek election as a Board representative. Emerging leaders in the HERS industry are especially welcomed as candidates to reflect the voices of the growing diversity needed in the industry. The Board of Directors provides a vital link to the communities RESNET® serves, and these voices are critical to the future of the industry and our country. The RESNET Board meets quarterly with two meetings held virtually and two in-person meetings. The 2024 RESNET® Board Election voting will be online and the deadline for voting will be Friday, December 20, 2024, 5:00 p.m. Central Time. The tenure of the following seats will expire on December 31, 2024: RESNET Accredited Provider Representatives – 2 Seats Certified RESNET HERS® Rater Representatives – 2 Seats Building Code Official Organization Representative – 1 Seat Appraiser Organization Representative – 1 Seat RESNET Associate Member Representative – 1 Seat According to Section 3.03 of the RESNET By-Laws on the RESNET® Board elections, members of each membership category elect their representatives on the board. The RESNET By-Laws also provides that the RESNET Board Executive Committee appoint a Board Nominations Committee that would review candidates for each membership’s consideration and ensure they are eligible to serve on the RESNET Board. The RESNET® Board of Directors has adopted procedures for RESNET Board Elections. The procedures include the process for nominating candidates to be placed on the ballot and the security and transparency of the vote counting process. To view the procedures, go to RESNET Board Election Procedures Persons interested in being considered by the 2024 Board Election Nominations Committee must complete the application that is posted on RESNET’s website at https://www1.resnet.us/vote/application.aspx by Monday, October 14, 2024. The application includes a Statement of Affiliations and Interests for Candidates for the RESNET Board of Directors and a Candidate Questionnaire that must be completed to be considered. As part of the application process Board candidates can record a short statement explaining why they should be elected to the RESNET® Board. As a candidate your membership category RESNET will give you an opportunity to record a statement of five minutes or less in which you can explain the following: Why are you seeking election to the RESNET Board of Directors? What do you plan to contribute to the organization? What makes you qualified to be a member of the RESNET Board of Directors? Links to each recording will be emailed to all eligible RESNET voters and posted on the 2024 RESNET Board Election web page and included in all election notifications and the electronic Board ballot.
