Accredited rating providers have the responsibility of ensuring the quality of rating services. Rating providers are accredited by RESNET.

The responsibilities and requirements to be an accredited rating provider are defined in the Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Rating Standards.

When the initial qualifications are verified the following steps must be completed-

  • An interview will be conducted with the organization’s principle to confirm the applicant’s understanding of the responsibilities of becoming an accredited provider
  • The Quality Assurance Designee will need to accurately complete a file QA review checklist on a rating identified by RESNET Staff
  • Approval by the Accreditation Committee
