Draft PDS-01 of proposed Addendum 27: Changes to conform the HERS® Scope with Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 Scope and provide for rating 4 story homes

RESNET IS ACCEPTING COMMENTS ON PROPOSED ADDENDUM 27, CHAPTER 3 SCOPE AND FOUR STORY DWELLINGS AND TOWNHOUSES

Proposed Addendum 27 amends the MINHERS® Chapter 3 to allow the HERS® to apply to one- and two- family dwellings and townhouses 4 stories above grade plane in height and modifies the Scope of Chapter 3 for consistency with the Scope of Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014. The amendment also adds definitions from the IECC and IRC to the MINHERS® Appendix B for terms used in the revised Scope of Chapter 3 and exceptions to ensure consistency with the IECC.
Public comments draft PDS-01 as shown in Draft PDS-01 of proposed Addendum 27- Changes to conform the HERS® Scope with Standard ANSI:RESNET:ICC 301-2014 Scope and provide for rating 4 story homes will be accepted for 30 days from posting on RESNET’s website.

Comments will be accepted only on the changes as indicated by the strike/underlined red text in draft PDS-01.

The public comment period will be open for 30 days beginning July 14, 2017 through August 13, 2017.

After the comment period, the RESNET Standard Development Committee 300 will consider and document each of the comments submitted and make appropriate changes. Any substantive changes to draft PDS-01 will be provided to the public for comment. When there are no more substantive changes the proposed final amendment will be submitted to the RESNET Standard Management Board for final approval.
