Proposed Standard Amendment on the Transition to New Versions of Rating Software

PROPOSED STANDARD AMENDMENT ON THE TRANSITION TO NEW VERSIONS OF RATING SOFTWARE

As the HERS® Index gains national recognition consistency of the scoring system becomes more and more important. Recognizing this, the RESNET Board established a set of policies aimed at enhancing the national consistency of HERS® Index scores.  One response to the initiative is clarification of the RESNET standards for rating software. The required use of RESNET accredited software is being addressed in a separate amendment and this amendment addresses the transition to new versions of accredited software.

Current requirements of the Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Rating Standards (MINHERS) are not clear about when new versions of HERS® rating software must be used to develop ratings. This proposed amendment provides a clear schedule for transition to new versions of software.

RESNET Standard Development Committee 900 drafted a consensus proposed amendment version PDS-01 for public review and comment. Comments will be accepted for 30 days beginning Monday, October 17, 2016. Comments must be submitted using the online comment form which is accessed as indicated below.
