Draft PDS-02, BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-2022 Addendum B, CO2e Index

Proposed Standard BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-2022 Addendum B-202x amends the 2022 edition of Standard 301 to modify the criteria for calculation of the CO2e Index. The COIndex was established by standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2019 Addendum D which was then incorporated into Standard 301-2022 along with other Standard 301-2019 addenda. New versions of the databases referenced by Standard 301-2019 Addendum D were released after it was approved so the Index calculation sections are being revised by BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-2022 Addendum B-202x to update the references and clarify their use.

(Note: Standard 301-2019 recently became the basis for calculating RESNET HERS® Index ratings so Standard 301-2022 will not become the basis for the HERS® in the near term. MINHERS® Addendum 66 adopted the CO2e Index calculation and reporting criteria currently in effect for the HERS® including the updated referenced databases so the Index will be calculated and reported with the HERS® ratings when rating software is updated. Standard 301-2022 Addendum B is intended to ensure that the criteria for the CO2e Index calculation are consistent with the criteria adopted by the MINHERS® Addendum 66 when the transition to the Standard 301-2022 based HERS® occurs in the future. Also note, the CO2e Index calculation utilizes data currently collected by raters and does not require additional data collection.)
