The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has appointed the RESNET Executive Director Steve Baden to serve on its Residential Buildings Committee. ASHRAE Residential Buildings Committee was created in 2015 and is responsible for identifying major residential trends impacting the practice of HVAC performance, informing the ASHRAE leadership and membership of these trends and their potential impacts, and making recommendations on new activities and policies in response to these trends. The committee identifies, recommends and coordinates relationships with societies and organizations that focus on residential buildings. The committee is also responsible for the implementation of the residential aspects of ASHRAE’s Strategic Plan. ASHRAE is a global professional association seeking to advance heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems design and construction. Mr. Baden commented on his appointment, “ASHRAE is an internationally recognized standard-setting organization. Having a RESNET representative on their Residential Buildings Committee gives the HERS® industry a voice in the development of ASHRAE’s activities and policies. I am honored to be appointed to the committee.”
