Draft PDS-01 of proposed Addendum 39: Ventilation Airflow and Fan Wattage

In response to concerns raised by Raters and Providers, Proposed Addendum 39 revises the MINHERS Chapter 3 adoption of Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 to allow a pathway for HERS ratings to be completed where mechanical ventilation airflows cannot be measured, by evaluating the air exchange rate of the home in the same manner as a home without a mechanical ventilation system. In addition, it also provides default ventilation fan wattage where wattage cannot be otherwise determined.  The addendum will take effect for RESNET HERS ratings when adopted and serve until the next edition of Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301 is adopted, which contains similar requirements.

The first draft, PDS-01, of proposed Addendum 39 is submitted for public comment. To view the draft addendum, access the comment form, and view comments submitted to date, click on the links below.
