Draft PDS-01 of proposed Addendum 39: Ventilation Airflow and Fan Wattage

In response to concerns raised by Raters and Providers, Proposed Addendum 39 revises the MINHERS® Chapter 3 adoption of Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 to allow a pathway for HERS® ratings to be completed where mechanical ventilation airflows cannot be measured, by evaluating the air exchange rate of the home in the same manner as a home without a mechanical ventilation system. In addition, it also provides default ventilation fan wattage where wattage cannot be otherwise determined.  The addendum will take effect for RESNET HERS® ratings when adopted and serve until the next edition of Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301 is adopted, which contains similar requirements.

The first draft, PDS-01, of proposed Addendum 39 is submitted for public comment. To view the draft addendum, access the comment form, and view comments submitted to date, click on the links below.
