RESNET and Blue Grass Energy have entered into an agreement to inform consumers of the benefits of energy efficient homes by marketing the RESNET HERS® Index Score for newly constructed homes. All builders participating in the Blue Grass Energy’s Touchstone Energy Home Program will have all of their homes energy rated according to RESNET standards and market their homes’ HERS® Index through the partnership. Currently there are 50 builders participating in the program across the utilities’ service territory. Through the agreement Blue Grass Energy is the first electric cooperative in the U.S. to make the HERS® Index Score commitment to RESNET. For more than 70 years, Blue Grass Energy, a not-for-profit distribution cooperative, has delivered reliable energy services to nearly 55,000 member-owners in 23 counties in north and central Kentucky.
