RESNET has been accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to be an ANSI Standard Development Organization (SDO). This means that RESNET can now develop and adopt ANSI standards. To oversee RESNET’s ANSI standard development activities RESNET has hired Rick Dixon as the organizations ANSI Standard Manager. Rick brings considerable skills and experience to this new position with RESNET. He has twelve years experience as Executive Director of the Florida Building Commission responsible for strategic planning, research and development of codes and support programs. His experience includes six years experience as State of Florida building and appliance energy efficiency programs manager. Mr. Dixon also served on the faculty and as a research engineer for the University of Florida’s Mechanical Engineering Department. RESNET Executive Director Steve Baden commented, “We are honored to have a person of such caliber and knowledge as part of RESNET’s team. Rick’s experience in standards and code writing and negotiating with the State of Florida will serve RESNET well in developing its ANSI standards.” RESNET’s first ANSI standards will be to develop the first national ANSI standards for the rating of a home’s energy performance and national home energy performance testing.
