The national awareness of the HERS® Index Score continues to grow. Lexington, Kentucky television station WKYT aired a story on its news cast on the HERS® Index Score. The news story reports that the Home Builders Association of Lexington is promoting the HERS® Index Score and is the first homebuilder association in the country to formally commit all of its members of have their homes energy rated. In the story the executive director of the Lexington home builders association Todd Johnson states that builders support the HERS® Index Score because “it is straight forward and simple. It is like a miles per gallon label for homes.” Homes with HERS® Index Scores were highlighted in the association’s Grand Tour of Homes.
