On Thursday, February 28, 2019, the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and the committee’s top Democrat, Ron Wyden (D-OR), introduced legislation that would extend the 45L federal tax credit for energy efficient homes. The legislation, “Tax Extender and Disaster Relief Act of 2019”, would extend the credit forward to December 31, 2019, and retroactively for 2018. The legislation will have to pass the full Senate as well as the House of Representatives and then signed by the President.
