PUBLIC COMMENT

Draft PDS-01 Addendum 98f, Wall Orientation

Proposed Addendum 98f, Wall Orientation, is the follow-on permanent version of interim Addendum 98i. Interim Addendum 98i, Wall Orientation, removed the RESNET HERS Standards requirement for documenting the orientation of each wall when using ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2022 for developing and reporting HERS Index ratings. Addendum 98f is the follow-on, permanent version of the addendum. The wall orientation requirement was incorporated in Standard 301-2022 to resolve concerns with the consistency in modeling home energy use. Draft PDS-01 Addendum 98f addresses that concern in a different manner.

The draft addendum, comment form, and comments received are posted at Draft PDS-01, HERS Addendum 98f, Wall Orientation. Public comments will be accepted from April 2, 2026, through May 1, 2026.

Draft PDS-01 Addendum 103, Direct Expansion HP & AC Modeling Supplement

Proposed Addendum 103 supplements Addendum 82 by clarifying how to size compressors with fossil fuel backup heating in the reference home, reducing the penalty for pan heaters, and making more conservative default values for minimum compressor operating temperatures.

The draft addendum, comment form, and comments received are posted at Draft PDS-01, HERS Addendum 103, Direct Expansion HP & AC Modeling Supplement. Public comments will be accepted from April 2, 2026, through May 1, 2026.
