RESNET Proposes Amendment of Chapter 10 to Remove Requirement that RESNET Energy Smart Contractor Education and Qualification Providers be Rating or Energy Audit Provider

May 30, 2014

RESNET’s standards currently require to be an accredited Rating Quality Assurance Provider or Home Audit Provider to be qualified to be accredited Contractor Education and Qualification (CEQ) Provider.

The current requirement is too restrictive. There are many otherwise qualified organizations that would make effective CEQ Providers that are shut out by this requirement. Being a Rating Provider or a Home Energy Audit Provider really has nothing to do with being a CEQ provider.

The RESNET Training and Education proposed a standard amendment to remove the requirement.

This proposed amendment is undergoing the RESNET standard amendment public review and comment process. Interested parties are encouraged to comment on the proposed amendment. Public comments on the proposed amendment will be accepted until June 30, 2014.

To submit your comments click on RESNET Amendment Comment Online Form. Comments are posted real time and you will be able to review comments that were submitted by clicking on Comments Submitted on Proposed Chapter 10 Amendment Revising CEQ Provider Assurance Requirements.

Only comments made through the online system will be accepted.
