As water supply and drought issues remain on the radar in our nation, RESNET is excited to announce that it is the first Home Certification Organization (HCO) under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) updated WaterSense Labeled Homes program. This evolution in the process for certifying water-efficient homes will directly tie into a RESNET HERSH20® score and provide greater flexibility and better reflect current industry practices. These updates represent an exciting opportunity for certified RESNET HERS® raters and Rating Field Inspectors (RFI). If you are an existing HERS® Rater or RFI, with a small amount of additional training on HERSH2O® you can become a WaterSense Home Verifier, which will help you differentiate yourself from your competitors. By taking an online training, you can become part of the solution and start 2021 with an edge on the competition. As a WaterSense Home Verifier, you can: • Put HERSH2O® to work and expand your rating services. • Be one of the first WaterSense Home Verifiers in the region. • Help your builder customers promote water savings. RESNET is participating in a targeted pilot of Version 2.0 of the WaterSense Labeled Homes program that is taking place in the Las Vegas, Nevada housing market. Under the pilot, RESNET will be using its HERSH2O® water efficiency rating system to certify homes for the WaterSense label.
