I am excited to officially begin my role as RESNET® Executive Director, and to work alongside our talented staff, volunteer leaders, Raters, Providers, and partners. Drawing on my experience across the residential energy efficiency and home performance ecosystem, I look forward to strengthening RESNET’s impact as the housing market continues to evolve. RESNET’s impact begins with its standards. These standards are designed to meet real-world demands in residential construction while maintaining rigor and credibility. As housing costs rise and affordability challenges intensify, energy and water performance play an increasingly important role in managing long-term utility bills. RESNET’s standards help builders and homeowners measure and realize those savings. Those standards are brought to life by RESNET’s Raters and Providers. Independent, third-party inspections ensure accuracy and consistency by verifying that homes perform as represented. This work builds trust across the market—among builders, utilities, code officials, policymakers, lenders, and homeowners. Protecting that trust is essential to RESNET’s success and will be a central focus of my leadership. Looking ahead, my priorities include growing the market for verified home performance and improving system transparency and efficiency to support broader adoption of RESNET’s standards. When homes are HERS® Rated and perform as promised, homeowners experience real, tangible benefits—from lower utility costs to greater comfort and reliability. Together, we will protect the integrity of RESNET’s standards, expand the reach of HERS ratings, and deliver measurable value to homeowners through verified home performance.
