California lost a leader in the home energy rating and building performance field with the passing of Doug Beaman. Doug passed away after a valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer. Doug ran his own company, Doug Beaman Associates that specialized in Title 24 energy compliance calculations, building performance and home energy rater training and home energy rating quality assurance and technical support. He served on the board of directors of the California Home Energy Efficiency Rating Services (CHEERS) for over a decade. Doug also served for many years on the RESNET Quality Assurance Committee. He was also very active in the California Association of Building Energy Consultants. Those who were fortunate to have the opportunity to know and work with Doug mourn his passing.
