RESNET Announces the Adoption of MINHERS® Addendum 59, Rater HERS® Modeler Capabilities and Recertification Addendum 59 revises the MINHERS® Chapter 2 to establish clear HERS® Modeler skill requirements for the certification of new HERS® Raters and recertification of current HERS® Raters. Certified HERS® Raters were grandfathered in as HERS® Modelers and HERS® Modelers are required to complete professional development training to retain the certification for modeling HERS® Ratings. To maintain consistency in the requirements as well as to improve modeling consistency, the Addendum requires HERS® Raters to meet the recertification requirements for HERS® Modelers as part of their 18 hours of professional development. The HERS® Rater training includes HERS® Modeler training for new Raters seeking certification and HERS® Rater capabilities now include those of a HERS® Modeler.
