Nov 30, 2022 GeneralProvidersRaters

NEW APPROVED STANDARDS ADDENDA:

MINHERS® Addendum 62i, Provider Disciplinary Actions and Appeals Procedures

Interim Addendum 62i amends chapter 9 of the RESNET MINHERS® to clarify Provider Disciplinary Actions and Appeals Procedures. The changes to chapter 9 are the result of recent legal challenges to RESNET current standards which revealed the changes are needed to protect the organization. Interim Addendum 62i became mandatory October 28, 2022.

MINHERS® Addendum 71i, SEER2 and HSPF2 Conversion Factors

Interim Addendum 71i establishes conversion factors for the new SEER2 and HSPF2 energy efficiency ratings for air conditioners and heat pumps. The conversion factors are necessary to convert the equipment efficiency ratings to SEERs and HSPFs used in accredited home energy ratings software. Addendum 71i is effective December 4, 2022.

MINHERS® Addendum 66f, CO2e Index

Addendum 66f is the final version of the previously implemented interim Addendum 66i. Addendum 66 refines the calculation of the CO2e Index which was included in the RESNET HERS® when standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2019 was adopted. The CO2e Index is determined using data collected for HERS® Ratings so additional inspections or tests are not required. This addendum primarily impacts accredited software providers. Addendum 66f replaced Addendum 66i and became mandatory October 21, 2022.

MINHERS® Addendum 69, Combustion Safety Training for RFI Certifying as HERS® Rater

Addendum 69 clarifies that if a RFI has completed the two-hour field training course on combustion safety they are not required to complete the course again when qualifying for HERS® Rater certification. If the RFI has not completed the full two-hour course it must be completed to be certified. Addendum 69 will become mandatory January 1, 2023.
