RESNET Announces Public Comment on Seven Draft Addenda and Standards

Addendum 54, HVAC Systems Installation Grading QA

RESNET Standard Development Committee 900 approved Draft PDS-02 of MINHERS® Addendum 54, HVAC Systems Installation Grading QA, for public review and comment. The addendum amends the MINHERS Chapter 9 to institute quality assurance requirements necessary for implementation of ANSI/RESNET/ACCA/ICC 310-2020, Standard for Grading the Installation of HVAC Systems.

Addendum 56, HERS® Modeler QA

RESNET Standard Development Committee 900 approved Draft PDS-02 of MINHERS® Addendum 56, HERS® Modeler QA, for public review and comment. The addendum amends the MINHERS Chapter 9 to establish Quality Assurance criteria for HERS® Modelers.

Addendum 60, Combustion Safety Field Training

RESNET Standard Development Committee 200 approved Draft PDS-02 of MINHERS® Addendum 60, Combustion Safety Field Training, for public review and comment. The addendum amends the MINHERS Chapter 2 to clarify training requirements for combustion safety field training.

Addendum 63, Training Period Expiration

RESNET Standard Development Committee 200 approved Draft PDS-01 of MINHERS® Addendum 63, Training Period Expiration, for public review and comment. The addendum amends the MINHERS Chapter 2 to clarify requirements for Certified HERS® Rater Candidates who do not achieve certification within the fifteen-month timeframe allowed.

Addendum 65f, Third-Party Energy Efficiency Program HERS® Ratings, Renewable Energy Certificates Ownership

RESNET Standard Development Committee 300 approved Draft PDS-01 of MINHERS® Addendum 65f for public comment. The addendum amends the MINHERS Chapter 3: to recognize HERS® based Ratings for private and government Third-Party Energy Efficiency Programs (EEPs); to define Renewable Energy Certificates and include their ownership status as a minimum rated feature where required; and, to eliminate a redundant exception adding hi-rise multifamily to the scope for the RESNET HERS. An interim version of Addendum 65 (Addendum 65i) is currently in effect that recognizes HERS-based Ratings for Third-Party EEPs.

Addendum 66f, CO2 Index

RESNET Standard Development Committee 300 approved Draft PDS-01 of Addendum 66f for public comment. The addendum establishes criteria and identifies data for the calculation of the CO2 Index necessary for software providers to revise energy rating software to produce the new CO2 rating and to print it on the rating label. Development of the CO2 Index rating utilizes current Minimum Rated Features and does not require additional data to be collected by raters.

BSR/RESNET/ICC 380-202x, Standard for Testing Airtightness of Building, Dwelling Unit, and Sleeping Unit Enclosures; Airtightness of Heating and Cooling Air Distribution Systems; and Airflow of Mechanical Ventilation Systems

RESNET Standard Development Committee 300 approved Draft PDS-03 of BSR/RESNET/ICC 380-202x for public review and comment. BSR/RESNET/ICC 380-202x is the third edition of Standard 380 and establishes the testing criteria for building enclosure and air distribution system airtightness and airflow of mechanical ventilation systems.
