RESNET Announces the Adoption of Three (3) New Addenda to the MINHERS

Addendum 34 Quality Assurance Data File

The standards for RESNET HERS® mandate that Rating Providers must collect, review and maintain for three years, supporting documentation to verify that data entered into rating software and all minimum rated features are supported by actual on-site field verified test data. Addendum 34, Quality Assurance Data File, defines the minimum acceptable thresholds for what must be included in the energy simulation files selected for required Quality Assurance file reviews. Compliance with Addendum 34 will be mandatory beginning January 1, 2021.

Addendum 47f Duct Leakage Test Exception

Addendum 47f is the “final” version of “interim” Addendum 47i that was adopted April 5, 2020. Interim Addendum 47i added an exception to the leakage test requirements of Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301 for certain configurations of ducts in conditioned space that do not qualify for the test exception included in Addendum L-2019 to ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 and in ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2019. The exception of Addenda 47i and 47f apply only to the RESNET HERS® and expires January 1, 2021.

Addendum 52i Eligibility to Grade HVAC Systems

Amends Chapter 2 of the MINHERS® to establish eligibility requirements for Raters and RFIs conducting HVAC system installation quality grading for use in HERS® Ratings. This interim addendum will serve to authorize eligibility requirements while final criteria are being developed through the consensus process.
