RESNET Enters Into Partnership with the Building Energy Assessment Professionals to Promote the Improvement of Building Energy Assessments in Florida

Nov 27, 2013

RESNET has entered into an agreement with the Florida Building Energy Assessment Professionals (BEAP).  The primary goal of the agreement is to strive to promote greater consistency and accuracy of energy ratings and energy audits in Florida.  A secondary goal is to educate program sponsors and consumers of the importance of energy assessments conducted by trained and certified energy assessment professionals.

Two initial areas where the two organizations will cooperate are:

  • Enhanced Quality Assurance of Ratings in Florida – BEAP and RESNET will explore how BEAP can be plugged into RESNET’s quality assurance and compliance complaint process
  • Development of Florida Based Professional Development Training for Certified RESNET Home Energy Raters

BEAP is an organization of Florida certified energy raters, weatherization, residential and commercial energy auditing professionals.  The association is sponsored by Florida Public Utilities and Jacksonville Electric Authority.  For more information on the association visit their web site at http://www.beapfl.org
