The RESNET Standard Development Committee (SDC) 300 has authorized the release of proposed substantive changes to draft PDS-01 of BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 Addendum D-201x, “Testing Airtightness of Building Enclosures, Airtightness of Heating and Cooling Air Distribution Systems, and Airflow of Mechanical Ventilation Systems: Reference Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 380-2016″ to the RESNET ANSI consensus standard amendment public review and comment process. Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 refers to the RESNET Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Rating Standards (MINHERS) for the procedures for conducting air-tightness and duct leakage testing. Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 380-2016 “Standard for Testing Airtightness of Building Enclosures, Airtightness of Heating and Cooling Air Distribution Systems, and Airflow of Mechanical Ventilation Systems” has now been adopted as an American National Standard. This proposed amendment will change the performance testing references in Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 from the MINHERS® to Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 380-2016. RESNET will accept public comments on the substantive changes to draft PDS-01 of BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 Addendum D-201x, for 30 days beginning December 23, 2016. Comments will only be accepted on the changes to draft PDS-01 during this second public comment period. Comments on all other changes to Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 proposed in the amendment were accepted during the first public review and comment period on draft PDS-01 of the Addendum so they will not be accepted again in this comment period. The public comment period will close January 22, 2017.
