On June 10, 2013, RESNET reported that the NorthstarMLS® Multiple Listing Service on June 6, 2013 started to incorporate a home’s HERS® Index Score into their MLS. A Minneapolis certified RESNET Home Energy Rater, Marcus DeVere of The Fifth Fuel forwarded the communication to local television station KSTP Channel 5. On June 12, 2013 the station’s Eyewitness News carried a story on the HERS® Index and its listing in the MLS. The story quotes Dave Seigel of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities that rated homes sold faster than homes without a rating. The local home builders association was instrumental in having the NorthstarMLS incorporate a home’s HERS® Index Score.
