Single-family homes permitted on or after January 1, 2024, and seeking DOE’s Zero Energy Ready Home (ZERH) program certification are required to meet ZERH version 2, revision 1 requirements. DOE has now created two training videos that must be viewed in the RESNET Training Portal. These videos include: • DOE Zero Energy Ready Home Certification (orientation training) • ZERH Single Family v2 (Single Family Training) Both training videos can be accessed for free on the RESNET Training Portal. After successfully passing the quiz at the end, HERS Raters and RFIs should enter their RTIN or RFIIN so the training can be logged in the RESNET Registry. Note: this training video is also available on the DOE website, but it must be taken through the RESNET Training Portal so it can be tracked in the RESNET Registry and avoid rejection of ZERH Ratings for Raters that haven’t completed the training. After July 31, 2024, HERS Raters and RFIs completing certification of homes under ZERH v2 must have this training completed to avoid rejection of submitted ratings.
