RESNET is Accepting Comments on Proposed Standard Amendment on Incorporating Reference to ANSI/RESNET/ICC Standard 380 Into ANSI/RESNET/ICC Standard 301

Jul 26, 2016

The RESNET Standard Development Committee (SDC) 300 has authorized the release of BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 Addendum D-201x, PDS-01 “Testing Airtightness of Building Enclosures, Airtightness of Heating and Cooling Air Distribution Systems, and Airflow of Mechanical Ventilation Systems: Reference Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 380-2016” to the RESNET ANSI consensus standard amendment public review and comment process.

Currently ANSI/RESNET/ICC Standard 301 refers to the RESNET Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Rating Standards for the procedures for conducting air-tightness and duct leakage testing.  The ANSI/RESNET/ICC Standard 380 on “Testing Airtightness of Building Enclosures, Airtightness of Heating and Cooling Air Distribution Systems, and Airflow of Mechanical Ventilation Systems” has since been adopted as a national consensus standard.  This proposed amendment will change the reference in the ANSI/RESNET/ICC Standard 301 to the ANSI/RESNET/ICC Standard 380.

RESNET will accept public comments on preliminary draft addendum, PDS-01 of BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 Addendum D-201x, Testing Airtightness of Building Enclosures, Airtightness of Heating and Cooling Air Distribution Systems, and Airflow of Mechanical Ventilation Systems: Reference Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 380-2016, beginning July 29, 2016.

Comments will only be accepted on the changes to Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014, Standard for the Calculation and Labeling of the Energy Performance of Low-rise Residential Buildings using an Energy Rating Index, January 15, 2016, indicated by strike/underline in the addendum.

The public comment period will be open for 45 days from publishing of the notice in ANSI Standards Action, July 29, 2016, and close September 12, 2016.

The proposed amended language is posted at Proposed Amendment on ANSI/RESNET/ICC Standard 301
