RESNET is partnering with KB Home and TopBuild to give an exclusive first-hand view of how a RESNET HERSH20 water efficiency rating is conducted. Water is the new frontier for RESNET and HERS® Raters. In many parts of the nation water is fast becoming an ever increasingly expensive commodity. There is clearly a need for a system to rate a home’s efficiency in water use. This will allow homebuyers to know how efficiently water is being used in the homes they are considering buying. It will also provide an opportunity for homebuilders to monetize the efficiency of their homes in the same fashion that the HERS® Index plays for energy efficiency. RESNET has developed interim guidelines for conducting HERSH2O® water efficiency ratings. KB Home and Meritage Homes have volunteered to field test the RESNET water efficiency ratings on a number of homes across the country. KB Home is field testing the HERSH2O® in Orlando, Florida. KB Homes and TopBuild will host a live demonstration of RESNET’s water efficiency rating, a short distance from Lake Buena Vista Resort, site of the RESNET 2018 Conference. Tour participants will hear a briefing about the development of the HERSH2O® rating system, then they will follow a HERSH2O® rater to perform the rating. 2018 RESNET Conference attendees have an opportunity to attend the field HERSH2O® rating demonstration Tuesday, February 27, 2018. This session is free of charge, but has limited availability. Transportation will be provided by RESNET and refreshments will also be provided.
